The design inspiration of the manatee(also called a dugong) hair claw comes from the folklore that it has been linked to folklore on mermaids. In West African folklore, they were considered sacred and thought to have been once human. In our design, we aim to capture the essence of the serene sea cow, using the expensive and most environmentally friendly gold-plated acetate material and crafting with meticulous handiwork, our goal is to authentically portray its most captivating moment and to evoke a sense of peace and tranquility for everyone who wears it. Even with eyes closed, it’ll make sure no hair is getting away from its claws!

Our hairpins are handcrafted from cellulose acetate, a soft, durable, and oil-free material made from cotton, wood, and pulp. Compared to traditional plastic materials, they are more environmentally friendly, reducing negative impacts on the environment.

love this clip! It's very cute, in the shape of a manatee, and the right size, so I'll buy it again in the future! I have shoulder length fine hair, and it does a great job holding my hair securely. It doesnt pinch or pull at my hair, is easy to place and remove, and stays in place all day

This clip is fantastic for twist buns on thick hair when those long banana clips just don’t work. It’s a harder thicker slick plastic and it doesn’t have those annoying little silicone grabby strips that pull at your hair. I hope it lasts me forever like my last one from the 90s did!
